This washed Red Bourbon from Gitesi Washing Station in Rwanda’s Western Province expresses the clarity and elegance the region is known for. Produced by over 1,800 smallholder farmers and processed by our long-term partners Alexis and Aime Gahizi, this lot delivers a refined and balanced cup with delicate florals and bright yellow fruit sweetness.
In the cup: physalis, white tea, caramel, yellow fruit sweetness, floral finish
Origin: Gitesi Washing Station, Karongi District, Rwanda
Variety: Red Bourbon
Process: Washed
Altitude: ~1,750–1,800 m
Careful cherry selection, controlled fermentation (10–12 hours), and slow drying on African raised beds for up to 15 days create a clean, expressive profile ideal for both filter brewing and modern espresso.
The Gitesi station is Rainforest Alliance and CAFÉ Practices certified, and supports its farming community through tree distribution programs, agronomy training, organic fertilizer initiatives, and performance-based quality bonuses.
A structured and elegant Rwandan coffee with clarity, sweetness, and a distinctive herbal-floral touch.
